Thunder Mountain Equestrian Trail

The trail begins on East Hicks Road approximately 3.75 miles from Route 555 and extends to the western side of Winslow Hill, north at the town of Benezette. There are several road crossings where the trail can be accessed and two loops for shorter trail rides. This trail is open to hikers and bicycles (non-motorized). Trailhead parking lot is day use only. Campsites may be available. Call the District district office for a permit. Campers must be self-contained and on pad sites. Potable water is not available. The trail is blazed in red. Please check the trail guides, most trails are not open to horses. Carry-in, Carry-out all trash, including fire ring trash. All horse waste, including manure must be taken with you. Hitching Rails must be used.
