Trail Description

Discover the Minister Creek Undeveloped Area. Ascend through house-sized boulders as you summit the Minister Valley Overlook. Make your way past the North Country Scenic Trail through the woods and on old railroad trams. Carefully cross the un-bridged tributaries to Minister Creek before returning to the trailhead. Along the way, expect to see vegetation and wildlife typically associated with older trees and decaying vegetation. Points of Interest: North Country Scenic Trail, Minister Valley Overlook, boulder formations, primitive camping areas at Triple Fork Camp and Deer Lick Camp for a fee. The Minister Creek Trail is located within the Allegheny National Forest, in Warren County, between the towns of Sheffield and East Hickory. The trailhead parking lot is located on SR 666 across from Minister Creek Campground. Plan on this hike taking 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on individual fitness level and pace. The trail is rated more difficult due to wet sections, slope, water crossings, and rockiness in some areas. Restrooms and water are present at Minister Creek Campground. Trail conditions can be muddy and wet. Wear appropriate footwear. Winter access is limited, parking lots are not plowed.
