Cliff Park Trail System

According to the National Park Service, visitors have used the Cliff Park trails to obtain exceptional views of the area from overlooks along the cliffs for more tha 100 years. The Park Service acquired the historic trail system in 2003, along with the Cliff Park Inn and Golf Course. The park staff has been working to convert a confusing maze of paths and roads into a single trail network that allows visitors to access the scenic overlooks, waterfalls, and woods while protecting the important natural and cultural resources of the area. The Cliff Park Trails network includes eight interconnecting trails, varying in length from 0.22 miles to 2.73 miles. Park staff has installed trailheads, fencing at overlooks, and signage to ensure the trails are clearly defined. Maps of the trails system are available at the visitor centers. They are also available on the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area Web site, www.nps.gov/dewa. All the trails in the Cliff Park Trail System include steep sections. Visitors to the trails should dress appropriately for hiking in all weather and during hunting season. Sturdy shoes, bug spray and bright colors are recommended.
